Grand Moff Tarkin from Star Wars (1977)
Darth Vader is supposed to be the main villain of Star Wars, but I say that’s just because he wore a scary mask. Tarkin was the one who ordered the slaughter of billions of people, but nobody ever brings up Tarkin. The lesson here is, if you’re a mass murdering scumbag and you’d like to burnish your legacy, stand next to a guy wearing a scary mask.

Twileks 2nd attempt
Attempting a redraw of a piece from a few years ago. I always liked the basic idea, but I feel I have yet to nail the composition.

Jedi Duel

This is actually what got me started with the Star Wars stuff: Mark McKenna was invited to participate in an art show for the big official SW convention, and asked me to help him come up with something. Typically, I went way overboard on my pencil sketch and added rough inks and colors. The piece has been submitted for review, we'll see if they accept it. I'm grateful Mark asked me to do this, because I don't often get around to doing cool geek stuff like this anymore.

Vader & Anikin

I can't stop drawing Star Wars stuff for some reason.
UPDATE 2/3/12: You may notice I extended Vader's muzzle a bit. This was a deliberate reference to the original development art of Ralph McQuarrie, which in many cases I love even more than the final designs that made it into the films. I just read tonight that Mr. McQuarrie has moved on from this Earth. Ah nertz.
