Lonely Girls

The results of an evening misspent sketching the bar crowds on 2nd Ave near the U.N. Lots of businessmen, lots of diplomat types, lots of women in heels they could barely walk in. Funniest moment was when a passing guy briefly took an interest in what I was doing, only to realize with some disappointment that my pencil sharpener wasn't drug paraphernalia.

jogger studies

I love doing studies from stock photography. I thought it might be fun in this instance to take some related images and mash them together into a montage to form a more completed illustration. (Photographer: Tim Tadder via Corbis)

WrestleMania posters

Some rejected poster concepts for WrestleMania 27, which took place in Atlanta earlier this year. Fans may notice that The Rock is nowhere to be seen, because these were done when his hosting was still a closely-guarded secret.

Rebekah Brooks

Atoms, Motion & the Void: "The Radio Ghost"

The last in the current cycle of Sleeves CD illustrations.

Picasso and son

I just ran across this photo randomly and had to draw it. It strikes me as an amazing composition, almost like circles within circles. Every fiber of Picasso's body seems to be orbiting around his kid. All the lines in his face and those tendons on his neck are converging on that perfect, circular blob of baby boy. I may have failed to convey any of this in the drawing, because I was having too much fun covering every square inch with tiny lines.
